Chromovert® Technology uses Molecular Beacons, or “Molecular Lightbulbs™), to detect and purify even exceedingly rare, optimally engineered cells expressing any one or more genes. The method has been used in applications ranging from flavors research to the discovery and development of a clinical-stage novel non-addictive pain blocker fast-tracked by the FDA. In this talk, we will provide an overview of the Chromovert ® technology and a scenic tour of highlights and example results. Dr. Shekdar will also share his personal experience as a biologist and biotech inventor starting and building a biotech company. Questions and comments about the science and about starting up your own company are welcome!
